Time Schedule for Immigration Services

 Obtaining Iranian visas for foreign subjects has different procedures and the length of time required for the completion of each visa application depends on the type of visa request. Information is given in the following tables regarding the approximate timescale required for providing the necessary visas and   permits for expatriates and visitors to Iran.

 

A)      EXPAC

The following table gives the time required for current procedures executed in Ministries and governmental offices to obtain EXPAC. Should a case be processed urgently, the given time can be minimized to 25 days by constantly following up the file.

Note:

Please note that the above timetable begins from the date when the work visa is requested.   Nevertheless, all expatriates coming to work in Iran with appropriate work visas, can finalize their immigration status with the Iranian authorities within a minimum of 20 days and a maximum of 30 days, and can have their exit and re-entry visas to leave the country without any time issues.

C)      Urgent Entry Visas:

1) Entering in Free zones: According to the regulations, foreign subjects can enter    the Iranian free zones such as the Kish Island without any visas. If they have to travel to the mainland, an entry visa from the free zones will have to be obtained.

2) 72- hour Visas: In cases where an expatriate is required to enter the country without prior preparation for obtaining a visa, travel is permitted to Iran without having a visa in a passport. The procedure for travelling in this manner means that a visa request must be submitted to the authorities at the airport here in the Iran. Upon arrival at the airport, the traveler will be issued with a visa   to stay in the country for maximum 72 hours.
